Emerald Society Brothers and Sisters,.
I am honored to have been elected as your President of this incredible organization. Growing up as a son of a Police Officer, I was lucky to be exposed to The Rochester Police Emerald Society many years before I would eventually become a Police Officer myself – But I had been part of the Emerald Society family long before I was accepted into the academy. I fondly remember the Emerald Society summer picnics, parade day parties, group outings to Flogging Molly and The Wolfetones concerts. However, what stood out most about my experience with The Rochester Police Emerald Society is the camaraderie, brotherhood, and the honor and pride in our heritage and the profession of law enforcement. There is a true family-feel to the organization; I know I can count on this family and they can count on me. What this group of people is willing to do for each other and their community is spectacular. This organization in part fueled by the desire to become a Police Officer, and once I did, I learned a tremendous amount about the job by the experience shared by our members at monthly meetings or events. Thank you to all of the members of this organization, the charter members, past leadership, and my father, for all of the experiences and knowledge you have all provided me.
As we begin 2019 I look forward to the privilege of leading The Rochester Police Emerald Society and working closely with my fellow executive board members as we continue our tradition of heritage, brotherhood, benevolence and fun, into our 11th year. We already have many great things planned! I eagerly anticipate our first ever time hosting members of Ireland’s An Garda Síochána for the week of St. Patrick’s Day, and the launch of our inaugural social sports team – The RPES Dart Team this January. Also, this year we will refine our operation, grow our membership, enhance benefits and events we provide for our members, and increase our positive impact on our community. I look forward to seeing you all, old faces and new, at our monthly meetings and many events we have in the works. Slainte!
